Grace is a vibrant congregation with 22 years of service to others through our faith in Jesus Christ. In the very near future, a new pastor will be called by the congregation and an exciting new chapter in Grace’s story will begin.
Until then, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to call me at the church (817-468-0868) or e-mail me.

We praise God for the gift of Jeanne Harris. She founded the Stephen Ministry at Grace some four years ago. Her compassionate Christian care and leadership has been a blessing to individuals, to the Stephen Ministers themselves, and to the whole congregation. Due to health concerns, Jeanne will be stepping back into a consultative Stephen Leader role. Thank you, Jeanne, for your tireless service.
Louie Nash just completed a Stephen Leader’s Training Course held in Pittsburgh, August 3-9. He will now assume the primary leadership of the Stephen Ministry program.
Our congregation’s Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.
A Stephen Minister is:
- Child of God who walks beside a person who is hurting
- A congregation member with gifts for caregiving, who was carefully selected to serve in this role
- A lay person who has received at least 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual care
- A caring, Christian friend who listens, cares, prays, supports, and encourages
- Someone who will be there for his or her care receiver, meeting faithfully for about an hour each week, for as long as there is a need
In order to continue and expand this ministry of care, we are beginning another Stephen Ministry training class this fall. Take advantage of this opportunity to share the love that God has given you. You will find that being a Stephen Minister will not only be helpful to others, but it will be one of the most fulfilling and joyful experiences that you have ever had. Please pray for God’s guidance. This may be the ministry He has prepared just for you!
If you are struggling with something in your life and would like someone to talk to and pray with you, consider having a Stephen Minister.

It is now possible to contribute to a scholarship fund for our seminary students. We have two who are presently in seminary and at least one other who is considering it. What a blessing from God!
The GPC Session has instituted the Philip Graber Memorial Scholarship Fund. This will be an ongoing fund that we believe God will use to help many students in the future avail themselves of the knowledge needed to minister full time in the kingdom of God. Simply make any donation to the name above or simply the “Graber Fund.” Scholarships will be awarded periodically. Forms for application to the fund are also available.
