<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The Incredible Journey, Friday, June 22 at sundown.  This beloved Disney classic is a daring and inspiring tale, sure to entertain your entire family.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Carpet</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">At its March meeting, Session approved spending up to $35,000 to re-carpet the entire building.  If you are interested in serving on the Carpet Task Force, please contact John Hendricks or Louie Nash. Nothing will be done without the Task Force. This should be a very short term commitment of your time and an excellent way to serve Grace.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Elder Nominations</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The time has come again for ELDER NOMINATIONS submitted to the Officer Nominating Committee. If you think He cares about our church family, please prayerfully consider persons for Youth Elder, Trustee and Ruling Elders for the Class of 2015. Look for the designated ONC box where these names are to be received in the Narthex.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Render unto God what is God’s: Speak to that place inside of you.  Listen for God’s answer, and pass it on to the church.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Watering Schedule</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Please stop by the bulletin board in the narthex to see which week in July, August or September you could take to water our flowers on the patio!  We appreciate all of you that have signed up already!</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Food for NEW DAY Teens</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We are now filling bags of food for 41 students to get them through the weekends. As a reminder, following are the items needed to fill the bags: Tuna kits, Vienna sausage, pasta meals or soup, 100% juice, shelf stable milk, vegetable in a pop top can or plastic tub, fruit, pudding, breakfast bar, cereal or oatmeal, snacks such as chips, cookies or popcorn and a bag of plastic ware and a napkin. We prefer white low fat milk to put on their cereal. The last time we figured the bags cost about $6-$7 per bag if you would rather give cash. Anything you do helps and we appreciate all the congregation does to help our neighbors get through high school and not be hungry.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">PASTORAL CARE MINISTRY presents Communicating and Caring: Alzheimer&#8217;s, Dementia and Decisions</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Saturday, May 5.  Continental breakfast at 8:45 a.m.  Seminar begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 11:00 a.m.  Childcare available ~ No reservations required</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Jaime Cobb, from The James L. West Alzheimer’s Center in Fort Worth, will be our speaker at a seminar hosted by the Pastoral Care Ministry at Grace Presbyterian Church. Jaime will speak to us about communicating with a loved one with Alzheimer’s/dementia, as well as health care decisions, legal decisions, and how to get help when the need arises. She will also give us information about the Adult Day Care program which was started more than 20 years ago at First Presbyterian, Fort Worth, and is now part of the James L. West Center.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Labyrinth Workday</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The contractor is at the church today to work on the labyrinth. Lauren will be replacing the bricks in the labyrinth on Saturday, May 5 at 9:00 a.m. and would appreciate your help. If you can come and help after the seminar, that would be great! See you on Saturday!</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Thanks to each of you for bringing your monies in for the RECY-CLA-MATICS!</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Watering the Flowers Sign-up</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Thanks to each of you that have signed up for a week to water our flowers on the patio! If you haven&#8217;t had a chance to sign-up, we hope that you will look at the sign-up on the bulletin board in the narthex. Please take a week to water the flowes.  The watering can and hose are on the patio.  You need to check on the flowers every other day depending on the weather. Thanks for keeping our flowers blooming!</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">ELDER NOMINATIONS</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The time has come again for ELDER NOMINATIONS submitted to the Officer Nominating Committee. If you think He cares about our church family, please prayerfully consider persons for Youth Elder, Trustee and Ruling Elders for the Class of 2015. Look for the designated ONC box where these names are to be received in the Narthex.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Render unto God what is God’s: Speak to that place inside of you. Listen for God’s answer, and pass it on to the church.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Food for NEW DAY Teens</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We are now filling bags of food for 41 students to get them through the weekends. As a reminder, following are the items needed to fill the bags: Tuna kits, Vienna sausage, pasta meals or soup, 100% juice, shelf stable milk, vegetable in a pop top can or plastic tub, fruit, pudding, breakfast bar, cereal or oatmeal, snacks such as chips, cookies or popcorn and a bag of plastic ware and a napkin. We prefer white low fat milk to put on their cereal. The last time we figured the bags cost about $6-$7 per bag if you would rather give cash. Anything you do helps and we appreciate all the congregation does to help our neighbors get through high school and not be hungry.</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Check the Citizen Journal newspaper today to see a great feature story about our Yarnbombed Trees and the Yarn Ministry ladies!  The Citizen Journal comes to Arlington residents in a cellophane bag tossed in your yard. Save your copies for the church please! Congratulations, ladies! The trees are so beautiful and they are brightening the lives of all who pass by!</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Please bring your recy-cla-matics back this Sunday, April 29!  All the monies collected will be used for the prayer garden!</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Ulster-Project Golf Scramble</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The 9th Annual Shamrock Golf Classic Scramble in support of the Ulster Project- Arlington is scheduled for a 1:30 PM Shotgun Start on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Bear Creek Golf Club at DFW Airport. Pre-registration fee for individual entrants is $95 or 4-somes is $320 ($80 per player).  Please call Arlene Smith at 817-478-4382 for registration details. We are also in need of individual and company sponsors for the event. Minimum cost is $200 for a hole sponsorship. This comes with sign recognition at the hole. This event is one of our largest fundraisers and needs your support to be a success. Your support is greatly needed for this event and truly appreciated.</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The Prayer Garden and Labyrinth Task Force would like to thank everyone that came the last two Saturdays to help beautify our church property. A delicious lunch was served to all the workers by Encouragement and Nurture Ministry! We would also like to thank the youth for planting and weeding on Earth Day! We hope to put the bricks back into the labyrinth on Saturday, May 5. We will keep you posted!</p>

Our home-bound members need to stay connected and this is a good way to make that happen. <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Workday this Saturday, April 14!</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We hope that you can come this Saturday, April 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to help with the labyrinth and other landscape projects around the church. Kohl’s department store has chosen us to be their “Green Initiative” and they are sending 12 people to work from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Boy Scout Troop is also sending 12 Boy Scouts to help. We hope that you will come and fellowship and get to know these people and help us with the many projects. Encouragement and Nurture Ministry will be cooking hamburgers and hotdogs for those who have been working on Saturday! Hope to see you there!</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Disaster Relief</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) has a relief team in Grace Presbytery, working with our communities that have been affected by the tornadoes.  While none of our churches sustained damage, their communities definitely did.  The PDA team is working closely with the communities of Lancaster, Forney and Arlington.  The PDA team will also be in churches on Sunday morning so please welcome them.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Volunteers Needed</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We have a specific request from First Presbyterian Church in Arlington for volunteers to work with that congregation in providing services to their community.  If you are interesting in volunteering with the First, Arlington church, please call the pastor, Rev Rob McClelland at the church office 817-274-8286 and press 0 to leave your contact information.  This line will be monitored and you will be contacted about the needs, times, etc.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">RECY-CLA-MATIC’s are Back!</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">This Sunday, April 14 you will be able to pick up a Recy-clam-matic in the narthex if you don’t have your old one.  Please start saving you change and we will have our first collection on Sunday, April 29.  All monies raised will go toward the prayer garden!</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Annual Shamrock Golf Classic </span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The 9th Annual Shamrock Golf Classic Scramble in support of the Ulster Project- Arlington is scheduled for a 1:30 PM Shotgun Start on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Bear Creek Golf Club at DFW Airport. Pre-registration fee for individual entrants is $95 or 4-somes is $320 ($80 per player).  Please call Arlene Smith at 817-478-4382 for registration details. We are also in need of individual and company sponsors for the event. Minimum cost is $200 for a hole sponsorship. This comes with sign recognition at the hole. This event is one of our largest fundraisers and needs your support to be a success. Your support is greatly needed for this event and truly appreciated.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Watering Needs!</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We are so thankful for all the rain but we know that we will have some dry days ahead. We need your help in keeping the plants alive in the flowerpots on the table outside the sanctuary. You can personally take a week or your ministry or Sunday School Class can take a week. We have a watering can and hose out on the patio, you do not need a key to water. Please let Linda Black know if you can help out, please call 817-261-4223 or e-mail at lblack@wans.net.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">It’s CHURCH DIRECTORY time!</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We have needed an updated church directory for a LONG time, so get ready to SMILE! The Staff Office will be open before and after each worship service during the month of March for you to have your photo taken. Don’t make us hunt you down!</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Help with Visitation</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Pastoral Care Ministry is seeking individuals who would like to help in visiting the home-bound members. Our home-bound members need to stay connected and this is a good way to make that happen. If you have an hour every couple of months that you could spare, please call Peggy Hellberg (817-419-8785) or Betty Sicks (817-478-2724) and we will add you to our schedule. Thank you so much!</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Food for NEW DAY Teens</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We are now filling bags of food for 41 students to get them through the weekends. As a reminder, following are the items needed to fill the bags: Tuna kits, Vienna sausage, pasta meals or soup, 100% juice, shelf stable milk, vegetable in a pop top can or plastic tub, fruit, pudding, breakfast bar, cereal or oatmeal, snacks such as chips, cookies or popcorn and a bag of plastic ware and a napkin. We prefer white low fat milk to put on their cereal. The last time we figured the bags cost about $6-$7 per bag if you would rather give cash. Anything you do helps and we appreciate all the congregation does to help our neighbors get through high school and not be hungry.</p>

If you are interested in joining our youth for the Mission trip, please let a youth or youth type person know.  We need one Male sponsor for Synod. This is a small but really great group of kids.  Come try them out for an evening, you can give them back at the end!  You can get your CPP (child protection policy) on by filling out the form on the church&#8217;s website and then leave it in the office for Rick Brunson.  He&#8217;ll get with you for training!</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The Grace Presbyterian Worship and Pastoral Care Ministries are sponsoring a Prayer Vigil around-the-clock in half-hour intervals between the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday worship services on April 5-6, 2012. To participate, sign up on the bulletin board in the Narthex to reserve your time to pray as part of the official vigil and reflect on Jesus, his crucifixion and resurrection. It is also a time to pray for our church, its session, Pastor Craig and the PCUSA denomination. Sign up today to get a time slot that you prefer. The times are filling up fast!</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Palm/Passion Sunday Announcement</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The Palm/Passion Sunday services at Grace Presbyterian on Sunday, April 1 will begin with a procession from outside the building into the Sanctuary, just as Jesus processed into Jerusalem. The congregation is asked to gather in the area under the port-a-cache in front of the building before worship, receive a palm branch from the ushers and then proceed inside singing a hymn or song led by the Grace Chorale or Praise Team. Follow the leader to lay your palm branch at the Communion Table and then proceed to your seat for worship.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Lenten Devotional</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The Worship Ministry of Grace Presbyterian Church has published a weekly devotional for the season of Lent. The meditations are contributed by Jenny Ross of our church. (It is attached to this Mid-Week Grace Notes as a PDF), and will available on the table in the Narthex.  We have also emailed the devotional to people who receive our Newsletter. We also are going to put it on the website and will be linking it to the Facebook Page. Enjoy!</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Everyone is invited to attend “Christ in the Passover” – a Jews for Jesus Presentation on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church. Unlike prior years, this will be a presentation and no Seder meal will be served. This presentation, by Sergio Danon who is a native of Rio de Janeiro, is designed to answer the question “What do the Jewish Passover and Jesus’ Last Supper have in Common?” Using a visual display of traditional Passover accouterments, the “Christ in the Passover” presentation enhances the Christian’s understanding and appreciation of the Jewish background of the Christian Communion. Ancient and modern Jewish customs are discussed and described with an emphasis on the aspect of redemption that Christ accomplished at Calvary.</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The Grace Presbyterian Worship and Pastoral Care Ministries are sponsoring a Prayer Vigil around-the-clock in half-hour intervals between the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday worship services on April 5-6, 2012. To participate, sign up on the bulletin board in the Narthex to reserve your time to pray as part of the official vigil and reflect on Jesus, his crucifixion and resurrection. It is also a time to pray for our church, its session, Pastor Craig and the PCUSA denomination. Sign up today to get a time slot that you prefer. The times are filling up fast!</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Palm Sunday</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The Palm/Passion Sunday services at Grace Presbyterian on Sunday, April 1 will begin with a procession from outside the building into the Sanctuary, just as Jesus processed into Jerusalem. The congregation is asked to gather in the area under the port-a-cache in front of the building before worship, receive a palm branch from the ushers and then proceed inside singing a hymn or song led by the Grace Chorale or Praise Team. Follow the leader to lay your palm branch at the Communion Table and then proceed to your seat for worship.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Lenten Devotional</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The Worship Ministry of Grace Presbyterian Church has published a weekly devotional for the season of Lent. The meditations are contributed by Jenny Ross of our church. (It is attached to this Mid-Week Grace Notes as a PDF), and will available on the table in the Narthex.  We have also emailed the devotional to people who receive our Newsletter. We also are going to put it on the website and will be linking it to the Facebook Page. Enjoy!</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We have needed an updated church directory for a LONG time, so get ready to SMILE! The Staff Office will be open before and after each worship service during the month of March for you to have your photo taken. Don’t make us hunt you down!</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">GPC Woman of the Year Nominations</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Prayerfully consider a special woman that you would like to receive the Woman of the Year Award. Nomination forms will be available on the Narthex table next to the Nomination Box. Nominations will be taken throughout the month of March. The winner will be announced late April.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Food for NEW DAY Teens</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We are now filling bags of food for 41 students to get them through the weekends. As a reminder, following are the items needed to fill the bags: Tuna kits, Vienna sausage, pasta meals or soup, 100% juice, shelf stable milk, vegetable in a pop top can or plastic tub, fruit, pudding, breakfast bar, cereal or oatmeal, snacks such as chips, cookies or popcorn and a bag of plastic ware and a napkin. We prefer white low fat milk to put on their cereal. The last time we figured the bags cost about $6-$7 per bag if you would rather give cash. Anything you do helps and we appreciate all the congregation does to help our neighbors get through high school and not be hungry.</p>

As a reminder, following are the items needed to fill the bags: Tuna kits, Vienna sausage, pasta meals or soup, 100% juice, shelf stable milk, vegetable in a pop top can or plastic tub, fruit, pudding, breakfast bar, cereal or oatmeal, snacks such as chips, cookies or popcorn and a bag of plastic ware and a napkin. We prefer white low fat milk to put on their cereal. The last time we figured the bags cost about $6-$7 per bag if you would rather give cash. Anything you do helps and we appreciate all the congregation does to help our neighbors get through high school and not be hungry.</p>

<p>The Grace Presbyterian Worship and Pastoral Care Ministries are sponsoring a Prayer Vigil around-the-clock in half-hour intervals between the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday worship services on April 5-6, 2012. To participate, sign up on the bulletin board in the Narthex to reserve your time to pray as part of the official vigil and reflect on Jesus, his crucifixion and resurrection. <p style="padding-left: 30px;">Nifty 50&#8242;s will meet this Saturday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. We are having speakers from Venture High School, one of the schools NEW DAY supplies with bags of food. Many of us know members of the staff there and the wonderful work they do for the students. We want to give everyone an opportunity to learn more about the school and their mission and to hear how appreciative they are of our donations. These folks go above and beyond what many teachers do to help these teens get their education. Everyone is welcome to join us for potluck dinner and fellowship, or you can just come to the informative program. If you would like to join us for the delicious meal please call Howard Livingston at 817-478-8571 or Joan Smith at 517-478-3127 prior to Saturday.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Landscape and Labyrinth Ministry Meeting</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">If you are interested in the landscape plan or the labyrinth here at the church, we would love for you to come to our first meeting on Wednesday, February 29 at 7:00 p.m. We will be looking at all the input for the landscape design that we received and how we will use the money raised from the mission project for the 25th Anniversary to improve the labyrinth. Peggy Hellberg, Louie Nash, John Sutton, Janie Whinery, and Tom Whinery are helping with this ministry. <p style="padding-left: 30px;">The church building and grounds need a good sprucing up. Our spring clean day is Saturday, March 3, at 9:00 a.m. until noon. There’s a need for lots of hands and hearts to help make our church shiny and bright for the coming celebration of Easter.</p>

In this original and practical book, Joyce Rupp shares how ordinary cups can become sacred vessels that draw us closer to God. Weekly themes are based on different images of the cup … the open cup, the chipped cup, the broken cup, the blessing cup … each in turn becomes a teacher in prayer. Bring your favorite cup and join the Spirituality Class each Thursday morning beginning Thursday, March 1 for this new study in Room 109 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Lenten Devotional</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The Worship Ministry of Grace Presbyterian Church has published a weekly devotional for the season of Lent. The meditations are contributed by Jenny Ross of our church. (It is attached to this Mid-Week Grace Notes as a PDF), and will available on the table in the Narthex.  We have also emailed the devotional to people who receive our Newsletter. We also are going to put it on the website and will be linking it to the Facebook Page. Enjoy!</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Church Directory</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">It is time for a NEW church directory! Plan to have your photo made on Sunday during March. We will begin this Sunday before and after both worship services in the Staff Office. Get ready to smile and we will have a mug-needed updated directory soon! <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Woman of the Year Nominations</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Prayerfully consider a special woman that you would like to receive the Woman of the Year Award. Nomination forms will be available on the Narthex table next to the Nomination Box. Nominations will be taken throughout the month of March. The winner will be announced late April.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Food for NEW DAY Teens: </span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We are now filling bags of food for 41 students to get them through the weekends. As a reminder, following are the items needed to fill the bags: Tuna kits, Vienna sausage, pasta meals or soup, 100% juice, shelf stable milk, vegetable in a pop top can or plastic tub, fruit, pudding, breakfast bar, cereal or oatmeal, snacks such as chips, cookies or popcorn and a bag of plastic ware and a napkin. We prefer white low fat milk to put on their cereal. The last time we figured the bags cost about $6-$7 per bag if you would rather give cash. Anything you do helps and we appreciate all the congregation does to help our neighbors get through high school and not be hungry.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">EASTER LILY ORDERS</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Lilies for Easter Sunday may be given in honor of someone or as a memorial. The plants this year will be $8.50 each and the deadline for ordering lilies is Sunday, March 11, 2012.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Please fill out an order form and make please your check payable to Grace Presbyterian Church marked Easter Lily. Then place the form and check either in the offering plate or leave it in the church office.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Lilies may be taken home after the 11:00 a.m. service on Easter Sunday.</p>
