What is Alpha?

Alpha gives everyone the opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. The Alpha course usually meets once a week for 10 weeks, including a one-day or weekend getaway.  Sessions begin with a meal, followed by a short talk and time to discuss what’s been taught.

During the discussion, everyone is welcome to contribute their opinions and  no question is considered  hostile or too simple.  Questions might include—Is there a God? Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going?

The Alpha Course at Grace will be offered to everyone with a dinner in the Sanctuary once a week on Tuesday evenings starting in Fall 2012.  Child Care will be provided!

 Adventure VBS 2012 

 Welcome to Babylon!  Another memorable VBS experience is in the planning.  

This year everyone will be immersed in Babylon as we learn about

  “Daniel’s Courage in Captivity.”

•       VBS will be at Westminster this year, July 30-August 3.
•       Mark your calendars now so you won’t miss out.
•       Registration will be online for both staff and participants.

Come and join us during the Children Music Time every Sunday between 9:45-10:55 a.m. at room 102. This program is designed for pre-schoolers and elementary graders. Come, have fun and praise God!!!

• “Week of March 18-24, we are praying for people in Jennifer King’s neighborhood on Tennis Village Drive, Felicia, Rio Vista Lane, Petra Court, Acapulco, Alta Vista Lane and La Viva Lane (128 homes).”

• “Week of March 25-31, we are praying for people in Pastor Craig’s neighborhood on McKamy Oaks, Boyd Tr., Boyd Ct., Caliente Dr. and Churchill Ct. (71 homes).”

• “Week of April 15-21, we are praying for and hanging door hangers in Melinda and Dave Kinkel’s neighborhood on Prather Ct, McKamy Oaks, Tomlinson Ct, San Mateo Ct and San Clemente Drive.

WALK, RUN & CARE PROGRAM

Come spend some time with us in a family environment. Let’s exercise a little and chat a little more.

Encouragement and Nurture ministry has formed a new group and hopes to get everyone in the church involved! Join us every Saturday at 8:30 a.m. for our new Run/Walk Teams. We meet at S. J. Stovall Park (2800 W. Sublett Road, Arlington, TX) for a short devotional, stretching and a walk or a walk/run. We promise to start slow!

• Run & Walk Group, Pace: 12-14 min/mile, Goal: 3 – 6 miles

Stewardship 2011 at Grace
Commitment Sunday was November 6th!

It’s not too late to pledge. Bring your completed form to Grace this Sunday, or mail it to the church. Join with us as we plan for our future.

Scout Sunday is planned for Sunday, February 12, 2012. The Scouts from Pack, Troop and Crew 421 will be leading in worship.

Movie: “Place in the Heart”

About the movie: “Places in the Heart” is a 1984 drama that tells the story of a Texas widow who tries to keep her farm together with the help of a blind white man and an African-American man during the Great Depression.  It stars Sally Field, Lindsay Crouse, Ed Harris, Amy Madigan, John Malkovich, Danny Glover and Terry O’ Quinn.  The film was written and directed by Robert Benton and filmed in Waxahachie, TX.
