Encouragement and Nurture ministry has formed a new group and hopes to get everyone in the church involved! Join us every Saturday at 8:00 a.m. for our new Run/Walk Teams. We meet at S. J. Stovall Park (2800 W. Sublett Road, Arlington, TX) for a short devotional, stretching and a walk or a walk/run. We promise to start slow!

Childrens Vacation Bible School

Summer Adult VBS

On Wednesdays at 7:00pm through July,  Adult Christian Education Ministry will offer an evening course titled Gospel in Life – Grace Changes Everything. The course will take each participant through study guide that contains a Bible study that begins the class, a ten minute DVD segment and discussion questions on the DVD presentation.  There is also a home Bible study that each participant does to prepare for the next session. If you would like to sign up for this class please do so on the sign-up sheet in the narthex or call the church office.

Nifty 50’s

Come join us this Saturday, July 9, at 6:30 p.m. for a fine meal and friendship. We will celebrate the Fourth with prayer, games & music.  We will discuss plans for August to go to Babe’s Chicken Restaurant and Johnny High’s Revue on August 13.

Officer Nominating Committee

The Officer Nominating Committee needs you!  Starting today through July 31 we are accepting nominations for the 2011-20012 Youth Elder.  Please prayerfully consider and make a nomination and place in the nomination box in narthex.

Update on Megan

She attended the 11:00 a.m. service yesterday and thanked all the donors and friends at Grace for her “work-in-progress” for her new teeth during the Joys & Concerns. All her new lower teeth are in plus most of her top teeth. They look great, all shiny and white. In August she is expected to get the final implant of the missing top teeth for the finish. She will have something like 5 bridges at completion.  One more payment to the lab and that should be it. We have about $800 left from the $3083 you donated. What a glorious God we have!

Sign the Stud

Once again this year, your session has approved the 2011 fund raiser for Habitat for Humanity which begins this Sunday, July 3. For three consecutive Sunday mornings, we will have the opportunity to “Sign the Stud” and all proceeds will go towards sponsoring a Presbyterian-built home which will be built in Fort Worth this fall. The stud that you sign will be installed in its permanent place inside an interior wall of the Presbyterian-built home and will act as a lasting tribute to the faithful sponsors who support this worthwhile project. Congregants of Grace Presbyterian have been involved with Habitat for many years with generous financial contributions as well as many hours of labor and donations of food, music and on-site devotions, and your generosity has been instrumental for Habitat’s success in Tarrant county. So, look in the narthex for the Habitat table and grab a pen to

$20 suggested contribution, but any amount is great! (Please put your money in the can by the stud and note on your check “Habitat” in the memo line)

Thank you for making a difference by providing adequate housing to a deserving family, and for supporting Trinity Habitat for Humanity!

At these meetings Pastor Craig will facilitate the participants working through a DVD series called Gospel in Life – Grace Changes Everything. The meetings will take each participant through study guide that contains a Bible study that begins the class, a ten minute DVD segment and discussion questions on the DVD presentation.  There is also a home Bible study that each participant does to prepare for the next session. The program this month will be a talk and slide show by Emily Sanders from her mission trip to Belize with First Presbyterian Church. Since the program is about Mexico, bring your favorite foods from that region and come learn what Emily experienced. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. If you don’t want to eat with us or admit your age group, join us at 7:15 for the program.

Vacation Bible School:  “Nazareth, Where Jesus was A Kid”

Coming to Grace on August 1 – 5:  “Hometown Nazareth…..Where Jesus was a kid”.  It will be an experience shared by children from Grace, Westminister, St. John Presbyterian churches, and our local community.

PENTECOST OFFERING AND NEW DAY

Did you know that the annual Presbyterian PENTECOST Offering supports ministries for children and youth?  Did you know that 40% of that Offering stays right here at Grace for ministries for children at risk?  Our NEW DAY ministry will receive 40% of the Pentecost Offering.  Sunday June 12 is Day of Pentecost, envelopes will be available.

The meetings will take each participant through study guide that contains a bible study that begins the class, a ten minute DVD segment and discussion questions on the DVD presentation.  There is also a home bible study that each Participant does to prepare for the next session. If you would like to sign up for this class please do so on the sign-up sheet in the narthex or call the church office.

It might be too late to participate in some of the activities, but it’s never too late to come and Worship at Grace!

You can always play in the Softball game on Friday, or join us in fellowship while we eat breakfast on Saturday (we will have an expanded area at the Cracker Barrel so the softball players have enough room for their crutches), or worship with us on Sunday.

Friday, April 8-Softball game (Adult vs. Youth) at 6:00 p.m. at Randol Mill Park, 1901 W. Randol Mill Road in the back of the park.  It is the last field past the swimming pool and aquatics park.  You don’t have to play, just come and cheer on the players and eat with us.  Mike and Morgan Machen will be cooking.  Wear your Grace t-shirts and bring a glove!  Bring quarters for hotdogs, Frito pie, and nachos!

Saturday, April 9-Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at Cracker Barrel at 4300 S. Bowen Road.  Hammer says: “Breakfast, Cracker Barrel, I-20 and Bowen, 8:30 a.m. sharp! Suggest wearing your Grace t-shirts.”

Saturday, April 9-Golf at Glen Gardens Golf and Country Club at 2916 Glen Garden Drive North in Fort Worth.  Registration starts at 10:00 a.m. with the first group teeing off at 11:00 a.m.  You can still sign up for golf and pay out at the course.  Call Rick Brunson for details at 817-457-2432.  Remember to wear a collar shirt.

Saturday, April 9–Women’s Tea at the Grace in the back Sunday School rooms at 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 9-Celebratory Banquet at Grace followed by a program.  The banquet starts at 6:00 p.m.

Sunday, April 10–Fellowship time from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at Grace.

Sunday, April 10-Worship at Grace.  One service with worship starting at 10:00 a.m.  Please note that there will not be Sunday School on April 10, 2011

The History of Grace

Up until the time of our 25^th anniversary celebration, we will reminisce about the history of Grace Presbyterian Church. These musings are intended to give our congregation an opportunity to take a look back and share what it felt like to be a part of the wonderful thing God started in South Arlington in 1985.
