Buy a Bag for NEW DAY
New Day is providing 62 homeless teens with a bag of food for each weekend. One bag of weekend meals for a teenager costs approximately $6.00. Will you buy a bag of food for a kid for a weekend? Or a month of weekends? Please put your cash donation in an envelope marked New Day or write your check to Grace Presbyterian Church – writing NEW DAY on the memo line of your check and place in the collection plate.
Security Reminder: There have been a couple of instances in the evening recently when unexpected visitors have entered the church building to solicit money. Once your meeting begins be sure and lock the outer doors of church to ensure everyone’s safety.

NEW SPIRITUALITY CLASS STUDY – 40 DAY JOURNEY WITH JULIAN OF NORWICH
The new study for the Spirituality Class will begin Wednesday, February 3, at 10 a.m. in room 100. Mona Bailey, Parish Associate at St. Stephens Presbyterian Church will be moderating this study. We will have the opportunity to learn from this 14th century woman who survived a life-changing illness in early adulthood, and following this received many spiritual revelations and became a guide to us through the centuries. Books will be provided for this study, which will meet every other Wednesday morning. Please join us as we study the words of this woman and how they bear witness to our lives today.
Confirmation and Commissioning Class Starting!
Are you in seventh grade or above and ready to deepen you faith through the process of confirmation? Are you willing to dedicate one hour (okay maybe just a bit longer than an hour) a week to talking about and listening for God’s call to you? Then join the confirmation class. Meeting will be once a week starting in January. At the end of this process, and if you feel God’s call you will meet with the Session and be confirmed on Pentecost.
The confirmation process will require commitment and dedication on your part, but it will also be interesting and fun. You will be assisted by your own personal mentor (a sort of spiritual personal trainer). We will have an organizational meeting February 7, 2010 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Grace. At this time the program will be explained in detail and any questions you have will be answered.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Rev. Wood, Martha Kinard or Mark Hellberg. We look forward to seeing you February 7 at 4:00 p.m.
