The Voices of Grace Chorale
Do you like music?
Do you sing in the shower?
Do you sing in the car with the radio?
Do you sing to God?
Come join Grace’s choir for worship, fun and fellowship! No auditions required just a desire to put forth a joyful noise to God! Rehearsal begins Wednesday, August 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. Any questions contact Gehlin Menti or any of the choir members.
WHAT BODY PART ARE YOU?
1 Corinthians 12 tells us, we are one body with many parts. Come join us as we embark on a church wide study of the book What You Do Best in the Body of Christ by Bruce Bugbee. This gifted author will help you find your God-given spiritual gifts so that you may fulfill the good work He began in you! We will kick off this journey at Ya’ll Come Sunday on August 30. ‘
Mowing Crews, saddle up, the mower is back in the shed and ready to run!
Do you have children/youth at home 18 years or younger? Then we want to hear from you. Folks involved in planning youth activities and choir activities need to hear from you – soon. Please help us by completing the short and simple survey form. They are available in the church office and on several flat surfaces in the building. If you took your home on Sunday, please return is right away. We need your input.
Many people, when approached to join the church’s music program, say, “I can’t carry a tune in a bucket!” Who needs a bucket to make a joyful noise? The book of Psalms include many verses about making a joyful noise and mentions harps, trumpets, tambourines and lyres as the music offered to God is described. Praising God with music elevates the soul and gladdens the spirit. Here at Grace, some of our joyful noises are produced by handbells (pun intended). The creators of these noises do not have to “read music” – just recognize the location of music notes and feel the rhythm. Our bell choir requires 11 ringers as well as substitutes. Dependence on each ringer creates a fun, sometimes hysterical time, especially when accidental sounds creep in. New learners are not expected to play with the choir for worship from the very beginning – there is a “grace” period. You are invited and encouraged to come and visit our group. Experience the close comradeship of making music together as one. Thursday, August, at 7:30 p.m. is the first rehearsal of this year. Mark your calendars and step out in faith to make beautiful music. Call Gerry Askew at 817-478-9311 for additional information.
