July 13-16 Marks Adult VBS! When many will be struggling through the heat of another Texas mid-July, things will be nice and cool at Grace’s evening Adult VBS. And you know what happens at night–the stars come out. Well, we’re going to have some “stars” at Grace that week. The woman some has called Arlington’s Mother Teresa, Tillie Burgin, will address us. As the tireless director of Mission Arlington, her list of recognitions and honors–local, state, and national–goes on for pages (“Pastor of the Day,” Texas House; “Tillie Burgin Day,” Arlington; “Minister of the Year,” Arl. Ministerial Alliance, etc. etc.)
Also that same week, Janice Harris Lord is bringing The Daughters of Abraham to Grace. Janice Harris Lord of Arlington is a national social work consultant and founder of Trauma Support Services of North Texas. She is a thanatology fellow with the Association of Death Education and Counseling, and a member of the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies. She is also founder of Daughters of Abraham and an elder at Rush Creek Christian Church. Janice is the author or coauthor of 14 published books available through Amazon. Gov. Rick Perry recently appointed her to the Texas Board of Criminal Justice, which oversees operations of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Dianne is the church secretary here at Grace. You can contact her by calling the office at 817-468-0868 or via the email link below.
